What is TVMA Sidekick?
An AI study assistant created by Master Eric Ford for TVMA Academy students, parents, and prospective families. It can help you review knowledge questions, understand terminology and Poomsae meanings, and find practical academy information between classes.
Do I need ChatGPT or a paid plan?
Sidekick opens in ChatGPT. Sign in to a ChatGPT account to start a conversation. Existing GPTs are available to Free users as well as paid users; access and usage limits can depend on your account or workspace. Check current ChatGPT access guidance ↗
Can my child use it?
ChatGPT is not intended for children under 13. For younger students, an adult must conduct the interaction. Users ages 13–18 need parental consent. Parents can use Sidekick to prepare questions and support learning together. Read OpenAI’s age guidance ↗
Which belt should I ask about?
Give the belt you are testing for: your target belt. Knowledge questions and board breaks follow that target, rather than your current belt. For knowledge practice, also include the age group on your study sheet. Ask Master Eric to confirm your assigned Poomsae.
What papers and gear should I prepare for assessment?
General assessment papers are due the Thursday before testing. Deputy Black Belt has a separate 10-day essay requirement. Confirm any assessment-specific instructions with the academy.
Bring full sparring gear, including a mouthguard and a protective groin cup for male students. No jewelry; tie back long hair. Ask TVMA for an item-by-item equipment list.
Who should I ask about fees or payments?
Please discuss assessment fees, tuition, payments, and other financial questions in person with TVMA staff. Prices can change, and the right information depends on your individual circumstances.
Can it tell me the latest schedule or book a class?
Sidekick can point you to TVMA’s published schedule and calendar links. Check those pages or contact the academy for current events, closures, and assessment dates. Sidekick does not book classes, manage accounts, or add events to your calendar. View the schedule →
How should I use an answer?
Use answers alongside your assigned study sheet, class notes, and instructor guidance. AI can make mistakes. Official Kukkiwon standards guide technical references, but Sidekick is not a fully verified movement-by-movement Poomsae guide. Ask Master Eric about unclear or conflicting information; physical technique needs in-person instruction.
What if I need personal help?
Contact TVMA for account issues, assessment eligibility, or feedback about an answer. Please keep passwords, verification codes, and private student records out of chat. For an injury or a question about whether it is safe to train, seek appropriate medical care; Sidekick cannot give individual clearance. Contact TVMA →
